Sports & Registration

Registration for all Arab Recreational Sports is done at the Arab Recreation Center. Anyone residing in Arab or the surrounding areas can participate in any rec-league sport. To save time, download and print the Sports Registration Form.

* All new players must provide a birth certificate at time of registration; no exceptions.

Girls Fast-Pitch Softball

The Arab Girls Softball Fast-Pitch Program is offered to all girls ages 7-12.
Registration begins in early January each year, and games begin in mid-
April. Players must be 7 years old on or before December 31 of previous year
to participate.

Fast-pitch softball is also offered in the fall. Please call the Arab Recreation
Center for more information.

Baseball and T-Ball

Baseball (and T-ball for ages 6 and under) is open to kids from Arab and the surrounding areas, who are between the ages of 4 and 15 years old. Registration begins every year in January, with games beginning in April. Players must be 4 years old on or before April 30 to participate.

Each season, 500 or more players can be expected to participate; the program has become so successful in recent years, and continues to grow season after season.

Fall baseball is also offered. Please call the Arab Recreation Center for more information.

Arab Swim Team – ARAB “RIPTIDE”

The Arab Swim Team, the Riptide, is open to all Arab residents between the ages of 6 and 18. All participants must be able to swim the length of the pool, or 25 meters. The swim team participates in both District and State Swim Meets.

Registration begins each year in April, and practice begins in May. The season ends with the State Swim Meet.

* The Parks & Recreation Department offers American Red Cross Swim Lessons for children that are 4 years old by May 1st. Registration for swim lessons begins each year in May.

Youth Basketball

The youth basketball program is open to all kids
between the ages of 5 and 14. Registration
begins in mid-September, with games beginning
in November. Players must be 5 years old on or
before September 1 to participate.

Arab Youth Soccer Organization – AYSO

Youth soccer is the fastest growing sport in the Arab area. The Arab
Parks and Recreation Department, in cooperation with the Arab
Soccer Association, offers AYSO fall leagues for ages 4½ to 9.
Spring registration begins in January and games start in March.
Fall registration begins in May and games start in September.

Flag Football

Flag football is open to all kids between the ages of 5 and 10. Registration is from June until July, and the season begins in August.

Tackle Football

Tackle Football is open to all kids between the ages of 9 and 12. Registration is the last week of July through the first week of August each year.
