These include, but are not limited to, paving of City streets, maintenance and upkeep of City rights-of-way, demolition and clearing of abated and
dilapidated structures, ensuring proper drainage, collection of debris and non-household garbage items, and the mowing of medians and ditches.
Note: Please call us to report missing or damaged street signs, potholes, fallen trees and limbs, and drainage concerns. The crew will respond as quickly as possible.

Sanitation & Brush
The Arab Street Department brush trucks rotate each week to a different section within the Arab City Limits.
Old appliances, furniture, carpet, leaves, tree limbs & brush clippings are all considered solid waste goods and may be collected one time per month. Please reference the Brush Pick-up Schedule & Map to determine which week is yours & please don’t place items along the roadside until it is your scheduled week for pick-up. Items should be placed on personal property at the curb or roadside NOT on public ROW or in drainage ditches. The Street Dept does not pick up items containing asbestos or pressure-treated wood/building supplies.
*NOTE: Brush pick-up DOES NOT include contractor jobs – per City Ordinance. If debris is left behind from said jobs, removal will be reflected on your water bill. Multiple loads per month will charged accordingly.
1st load – included
2nd load – $100
3rd load – $200
Leaf Removal
Leaf Pick-Up
Leaf pick-up begins each year in November and will be collected on the same schedule as brush. Leaves and grass clippings should not be bagged. Please DO NOT place leaves on top of brush. Leaves may be placed in a pile near the roadway AWAY from all other roadside waste, storm drains & culverts. This prevents clogging of ditches & drainage areas.
