Wichita to Kansas City, Missouri, then on to Cape Canaveral, Florida, then to Washington, D.C. for a short stint, and finally to Huntsville in 1968, where they resided until the family moved to Arab in 1992.

It was six years later, in 1998, when he would finally retire from the Corps, a successful career that effectively prepared him for his upcoming role as Chief Executive Officer of the City of Arab, and Champion of its future.

In October 1996, two years prior to retirement, he was elected to serve on the Arab City Council, and served two consecutive terms through October 2004. It was then when he decided to slow down, take a breather, and spend time with his family. In doing that, Bob was able to focus on his first true love… restoring antique cars… a passion that continues to connect him with his son and four grand-sons.

After eight well-deserved years of retirement, Bob was encouraged to run for the Office of Mayor. He did, and was elected Mayor in 2012, and was re-elected to a second term in October 2016, which expires in 2020.
