Animal Control
The City of Arab enacted an Ordinance in January 2017 that details the restraint and containment requirements of dogs, provides basic standards of care for dogs that are kept habitually outside, and prohibits direct point tethering and chaining of dogs.
The Arab Animal Shelter is located just off Highway 69 West on Heroes Lane, which runs between the water tower and the National Guard Armory. Animals are usually visible from outside the shelter during the day.
If you would like to meet & interact with the animals, please contact us to schedule an appointment.
For information about adopting, or to learn more about having your pet spayed or neutered, please call (256) 931-7270 and leave a message. The Animal Control Officer will return your call.
To report a problem with a stray animal, or to report abuse or neglect, you may submit an Animal Report Form here, or call (256) 931-7270 and leave a message.
If it is an emergency, please call the Arab Police Department at (256) 586-7525.
