Arab Street Department
The Arab Street Department is responsible for a wide range of services to the citizens of Arab. These include maintenance of streets and right of ways, drainage maintenance, brush and trash collection, mowing and city signage.
Debris collection includes brush and any non-household garbage; eg. couches, dressers, tv's etc...
Leaf pick-up starts up in November and will be collected on the same schedule as brush (see below). Please place leaves in heavy duty trash bags if possible. Please DO NOT place leaves on top of brush. Homeowner debris is picked up curbside once monthly.

Any brush or rubbish generated by a contractor WILL NOT be collected by the city.
There are set fees (See Table Below) to be pre-paid at city hall for the collection of all televisions, computer monitors, microwaves and tires.
*NOTE : Surcharges - Pre-paid to city hall for the collection of the following items:

Snow & Ice Removal
If ice and snow should occur, the first priority is streets around police precinct, fire & rescue stations. These are followed by city streets. Residential streets and drives will be cleared as soon as possible. Sand is used on city streets, while a salt/sand mixture is used on the sidewalks.
