WE SERVE TO SAVE

The City of Arab Fire and EMS Department responds to fires and other emergency incidents within the Arab City limits and the Arab coverage area. The Arab Fire Department is proud of its I.S.O rating of a Class 4. This rating has a direct bearing on house insurance rates. All fires within the City of Arab are investigated to determine their cause and origin. The Fire Department also works with the police department to pursue the criminal investigation of suspected arson cases.

For over forty years, the City of Arab has provided it's citizens with emergency medical services offering state-of-the-art pre-hospital care for medical and trauma patients, inside the corporate limits of the City of Arab, as well as the surrounding community. In addition, reciprocal agreements with neighboring ambulance services provide extra personnel in times of need.

The Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance service is staffed with Paramedics, EMT's, and Firemedics operating on a twenty-four hour basis. Air ambulance services are provided based on patient needs, and can be requested from Huntsville, Cullman, Chattanooga, or Birmingham, with minimal response time.

Marshall Medical Center North is located just outside Arab city limits, and is one of two public hospitals in Marshall County, both being owned and operated by the Marshall County Medical Authority. Other major hospitals in the region include Huntsville Hospital and University of Alabama - Birmingham Hospital.

The Arab Fire and EMS Department strives to minimize losses and suffering by providing
the following services:

Fire Suppression
Emergency Services
Fire Investigation
Fire Prevention
State Fire Training

Additional services include testing fire hydrants within city limits, offering instruction for the prevention of and proper response to fires, and proper utilization of fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and other safety devices.
